South Korea’s Jung Da Woon earns 1st ONE Warrior Series win in Singapore

Fighting out of South Korea, Jung Da Woon, 27, was one of the winners at “Rich Franklin’s ONE Warriors Series” Season 7. It was his third bout in the ONE Championship subsidiary headed by mixed martial arts veteran Rich “Ace” Franklin, 44, of the U.S.

ONE Championship held “ONE Warrior Series 7” in Singapore on August 6, 2019 featuring one Muay Thai contest and 14 professional MMA matches. In the 12th bout of the evening, Jung competed in an MMA match in the flyweight division against Detchadin Sornsirisuphathin with Isaac Yap as the referee.

Yap put a stop to the flyweight contest after 4 minutes and 28 seconds in the first round. Jung knocked out Detchadin via strikes.

Winning at “ONE Warrior Series 7” improved the professional MMA record of Jung to 8 wins and 5 losses. He is training out of Team POMA in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.

On the other hand, Detchadin now has 8 wins and 5 losses. He trains out of Bangkok Fight Lab in Bangkok, Thailand.

“ONE Warrior Series 7” marked Jung’s first win in ONE Super Series. He was knocked out by Ali Motamed, 28, of Iran at “ONE Warrior Series 1” on March 31, 2018 and lost to Zechariah “Earth Man” Lange, 30, of the U.S. via unanimous decision at “ONE Warrior Series 3” on October 11, 2018.

Including South Korea and Thailand, 16 countries were represented at “ONE Warrior Series 7.” The others were Australia, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Northern Ireland, the Philippines, Singapore, the U.S. and Vietnam.

South Korea was represented by two fighters namely Jung and Kim Myeong Gu, 30. Detchadin solely represented Thailand.

Thailand and China were represented at “ONE: Dawn of Heroes” on August 2, 2019. It was the third ONE Championship event in 2019 that took place in the Philippines.

Featuring 12 mixed martial arts matches and two Muay Thai matches, “ONE: Dawn of Heroes” took place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. In the third bout of the evening, Pongsiri “The Smiling Assassin” Mitsatit, 23, of Thailand faced Miao Li Tao, 26, of China.

Including Thailand and China, 12 countries were represented at “ONE: Dawn of Heroes.” The other countries were Australia, Brazil, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, the United Kingdom, the United States and Vietnam.

Mitsatit was one of the two fighters who represented Thailand. Miao was one of the two representatives of China.

Blue Corner

Miao is training out of My MMA Academy. Hailing from Luoyang, Henan, China, he moved to Beijing, China and made his professional MMA debut in 2016.

“ONE: Dawn of Heroes” marked Miao’s third ONE Championship outing. He was coming out of a knockout victory over former ONE Strawweight World Champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke, 40, Thailand.

Red Corner

Mitsatit is training out of Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket, Thailand. Born on June 16, 1996, he made his professional MMA debut in 2014.

“ONE: Dawn of Heroes” marked Mitsatit’s seventh ONE Championship outing. He was coming out of a knockout victory over Robin “The Ilonggo” Catalan, 30, of the Philippines in Bangkok, Thailand.

Results

Mitsatit and Miao competed in an MMA match in the strawweight division. Yoshinori Umeki served as the referee.

After three five-minute rounds, the strawweight bout was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, Umeki raised the hand of Miao, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

Winning at “ONE: Dawn of Heroes” improved the professional MMA record of Miao to 5 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Mitsatit now has 10 wins and 3 losses.

Stamp Fairtex to have 1st MMA bout in ONE Championship at ‘ONE: Dreams of Gold’ in Bangkok, Thailand

ONE Atomweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion Stamp Fairtex, 21, is set to have her first official mixed martial arts bout in ONE Championship in front of her countrymen. She is an alum of the promotion’s subsidiary ONE Warrior Series.

Stamp was one of the Thai martial artists who attended the official “ONE: Dreams of Gold” open workout on July 25, 2019. It took place at the Golden Tulip Sovereign Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.

Including Stamp, six fighters will represent Thailand at “ONE: Dreams of Gold.” The others are “Smokin” Jo Nattawut, 29, Bangpleenoi Petchyindee Academy, 25, Lerdsila Phuket Top Team, 38, Muangthai PK.Saenchaimuaythaigym, 21, and ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion “The Baby Shark” Petchdam Petchyindee Academy, 21.

ONE Championship will hold “ONE: Dreams of Gold” at the Impact Arena in Bangkok on August 16, 2019. One of the MMA bouts on the card is a women’s atomweight contest between Stamp and promotional debutante Asha “Knockout Queen” Roka, 20, of India.

“I am ready to embark on this new chapter of my martial arts journey,” Stamp stated. “When I first joined ONE Championship, I was already working very hard to compete in mixed martial art but when the opportunity to compete in both kickboxing and Muay Thai as well as the chance to become a World Champion came by, I couldn’t pass it up.”

“Now that I’ve achieved so much in those sports, I want more,” the ONE Atomweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion continued. “I want the mixed martial arts world title. That’s the goal.”

Thailand and China were among the 19 countries represented at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” on May 17, 2019. ONE Championship held the combat sports event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.

Featuring 10 mixed martial arts matches and six ONE Super Series contests, which were six kickboxing bouts, “ONE: Enter the Dragon” was the Singapore-based martial arts organization’s second event in 2019 that took place in Singapore. The ninth bout was between Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke, 40, Thailand and Miao Li Tao, 26, of Beijing, China.

Dejdamrong was one of the five representatives of Thailand at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” while Miao solely represented China. Argentina, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Moldova, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Turkey, Ukraine and the United States were also represented.

Originally from Luoyang, Henan, China, Miao is training out of Fighting Brothers in Beijing. When he was a teenager, he started his training in wushu sanda.

“ONE: Enter the Dragon” marked Miao’s second ONE Championship bout. He has been competing professionally since 2016.

Dejdamrong reigned as the ONE Strawweight World Champion from May 22, 2015 to May 27, 2016. Training out of Evolve MMA in Singapore, he is a retired Muay Thai fighter and a former two-division Lumpinee champion.

“ONE: Enter the Dragon” marked Dejdamrong’s 15th ONE Championship bout. Born on November 7, 1978 in Trang, Thailand, he has been competing professionally since 2014.

Fight Result

Dejdamrong and Miao competed in an MMA match in the strawweight division. Kemp Cheng served as the referee.

Cheng put a stop to the strawweight contest after 4 minutes and 9 seconds in the first round. Miao knocked out Dejdamrong.

Winning at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” improved the professional MMA record of Miao to 4 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Dejdamrong now has 10 wins and 5 losses.

“ONE: Enter the Dragon” Main Events

Both fighting out of the Netherlands, Nieky “The Natural” Holzken, 34, and Regian “The Immortal” Eersel, 25, competed for the inaugural ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Championship in the co-main event. The latter won the title via unanimous decision.

Christian “The Warrior” Lee, 20, of Singapore challenged reigning ONE Lightweight World Championship: Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki, 35, of Japan in the main event. The Singaporean challenger dethroned the Japanese defending champion via technical knockout.
