An undefeated Singaporean boxer will face a Namibian boxing veteran in the main event of “Roar of Singapore V: The Kings of Lion City.” Reigning International Boxing Organization Intercontinental Featherweight Champion Muhamad “The Chosen Wan” Ridhwan of Singapore and Paulus “The Rock” Ambunda, 38, of Namibia will compete for the IBO World Super Bantamweight title.

Scheduled on September 29, 2018, “The Kings of Lion City” is the fifth installment of Ringstar Boxing’s “Roar of Singapore” series. For the first time, the boxing event is taking place at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands, which is also co-promoting the event.

Ridhwan holds a professional boxing record of 11 wins and 0 loss. Recently, Ringstar Boxing founder and CEO Scott Farrell explained what makes the undefeated Singapore boxer extraordinary.

“Ridhwan has incredible boxing skill mixed with a huge heart,” Farrell said. “He is set to take the super bantamweight division by storm and this makes him one of the fast-rising faces in Asian Boxing.”

On the other hand, Ambunda has 26 wins and 2 losses. He is a former World Boxing Organization world champion and was a two-time IBO World champion.

“He was the former world champion and has beaten some top level guys,” Ridhwan said of Ambunda. “He lost twice and I am sure these losses against top level opponents have given him valuable lessons in the ring. He earned his titles but there are levels to this game.”

“I know he has the experience and he is confident in beating me but it doesn’t matter,” Ridhwan said of Ambunda. “I am not undermining him in any way, but my team and I truly believe we have what it takes to take him down.”

Among the “Roar of Singapore V: The Kings of Lion City” sponsors and partners are NTUC Fairprice, Marina Bay Sands, Nutrifirst, Cobra Energy Drink and Roomaif. Ringstar Boxing’s broadcast partners include FIGHT SPORTS, ESPN TV5 Philippines, MediaCorp Okto, Astro Malaysia and FTA channel for delayed broadcast.
