Monarchy MMA’s Agilan Thani: I’ve been preparing much harder for ‘ONE: Destiny of Champions’

Representing Monarchy MMA, Agilan “Alligator” Thani, 23, of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia has shared some details on his preparation for “ONE: Destiny of Champions.” He is one of the four Malaysian athletes competing in the ONE Championship event on December 7, 2018 at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur.

“I always have to make sure I am in the best shape possible,” Thani said during the open workout for “ONE: Destiny of Champions” in Kuala Lumpur on December 4, 2018. “Work never stops for me. I have to do everything that I can to be considered among the best.”

“I’ve been preparing much harder for this fight because I want to show that I still belong at the top,” Thani added. “I’m looking forward to showcasing my skills this Friday night.”

On the fight card of “ONE: Destiny of Champions” are four Muay Thai bouts under ONE Super Series and nine mixed martial arts matches. In the co-main event of the evening, Thani and Kiamrian Abbasov, 25, of Kyrgyzstan, will compete in an MMA match in the welterweight division.

Thani acknowledges that every opponent is dangerous and he cannot underestimate anybody. He described Abbasov as a tough opponent.

The Monarchy MMA athlete  has been competing professionally since 2013. He joined ONE Championship in 2015 and “ONE: Destiny of Champions” marks his 11th bout in the Singapore-based martial arts organization.

The other three Malaysian representatives at “ONE: Destiny of Champions” are Gianni Subba, 25, “Jordan Boy” Mohammed bin Mahmoud, 22, and Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan, 19. Mahmoud will make his ONE Championship debut, facing Stergos “Greek Dynamite” Mikkios, 28, of Greece and the United States in a Muay Thai contest in the bantamweight division.

Subba will face “The Southern Eagle” Ma Hao Bin, 24, of Jingdezhen, Jiangxi, China. Radzuan will battle it out in the women’s strawweight division against Jenny “Lady GoGo” Huang, 27, of Chinese Taipei.

ONE Championship held the official  open workout for “ONE: Destiny of Champions” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on December 4, 2018. Featured in the event were Malaysian athletes Gianni Subba, 25, Agilan “Alligator” Thani, 23, “Jordan Boy” Mohammed bin Mahmoud, 22, and Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan, 19.

The “ONE: Destiny of Champions” fight night will take place at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur on December 7, 2018. The fight card will feature 13 bouts, which include nine mixed martial arts matches and four ONE Super Series striking contests.

Thani and Kiamrian Abbasov, 25, of Kyrgyzstan, will co-headline “ONE: Destiny of Champions.” They will compete in an MMA match in the welterweight division.

“My opponent is pretty tough,” Thani said of Abbasov during the open workout. “At this level, every opponent is dangerous and you can’t underestimate anybody. The welterweight division in ONE Championship is very deep and there are a lot of newcomers.”

One of the newcomers in the welterweight division of ONE Championship is Choo Sung-hoon, 43, who is professionally known as Yoshihiro “Sexyama” Akiyama, of Japan. He is a Korean-Japanese martial arts veteran and judoka who competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship from 2009 to 2015.

With Thani and Abbasov in the co-main event, “ONE: Destiny of Champions” will be headlined by Yodsanklai “The Hero” IWE Fairtex, 32, of Thailand takes on Luis “Macaco” Regis, 33, of Australia. The headliners will compete in a Muay Thai contest in the featherweight division.

In the fifth bout of the evening, Mahmoud will face Stergos “Greek Dynamite” Mikkios, 28, of Greece and the United States. They will compete in a Muay Thai contest in the bantamweight division.

In the eighth bout of the evening, Subba will face “The Southern Eagle” Ma Hao Bin, 24, of Jingdezhen, Jiangxi, China. The former was with his brother and fellow ONE Championship athlete Keanu Subba, 24, during the open workout, which was also attended by former ONE Championship athlete Peter Davis and Ann Osman.

In the 10th bout of the evening, Radzuan will compete in the atomweight division against Jenny “Lady GoGo” Huang, 27, of Chinese Taipei. It is one of the three female bouts on the card.

Honda Asian Journey 2018 starts in Penang, Malaysia

The Honda Group of Companies in the Asia and Oceania region has kicked off the Honda Asian Journey 2018 in Penang, Peninsular Malaysia, Malaysia. From November 2-4, 2018, the Honda big bike caravan will cruise down West Malaysia and end up at the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix (MotoGP) event.

More than 60 riders will experience the fun and joy of riding Honda big bikes all the way to the destination, the Sepang International Circuit. The riders are customers, journalists, Honda dealers and associates from Indonesia, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

The journey started on November 2, 2018 at Stadium Batu Kawan in Penang, where all riders gathered for safe riding training and to warm up on over 60 Honda big bikes they will experience during the journey, such as the new Goldwing, Africa Twin, CB1000R and CB1100. The caravan then kicked off by travelling to Cameron Highlands, where a scenic landscape awaited the riders to enjoy while cruising.

On November 3, 2018, the participants will have a ride from Cameron Highlands to Putrajaya, the federal administrative center, to attend a welcome dinner featuring an exclusive appearance by MotoGP riders, including 2018 Champion Marc Marquez. On November 4, 2018, they will have a ride to Sepang International Circuit for the MotoGP race along with hundreds of other Honda customers to cheer for the Honda GP riders in the Malaysia MotoGP.

The total distance is approximately 490 km. The Honda models are Goldwing GL1800, F6C, Africa Twin CRF1000L, CB1000R, CB1100 series, Rebel 500, CTX1300, VFR1200X, NC750 series, CBR650F, CB650F, CBR500R and CB500 series.

Aside from Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd., the regional headquarters for the Honda Asia and Oceania region, six Honda Group of Companies in the Asia and Oceania regions are hosting the Honda Asian Journey 2018. These are PT Astra Honda Motor in Indonesia, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt., Ltd. in India, Boon Siew Honda Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia, Honda Philippines Inc. in the Philippines, P. Honda Co., Ltd. in Thailand and Honda Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Vietnam.
