Finland vs Iran: Glenn Sparv, Mehdi Bagheri fight at ‘Full Metal Dojo: Big Trouble in Little Bangkok’ in Thailand

Finland and Iran were represented at the most recent Full Metal Dojo event. The weigh-ins of the 18 mixed martial arts competing in the event titled “Full Metal Dojo: Big Trouble in Little Bangkok” was hosted by the Clubhouse Sports Bar and Grill in Bangkok, Thailand on November 2, 2018.

Hosted by FMD founder Jon Nutt, the fight night took place at the Insanity Nightclub at Sukhumvit soi 11 in Bangkok on November 3, 2018. The fight card featured two amateur and seven professional MMA matches.

In the main event, Glenn “Teddy Bear” Sparv, 30, of Vaasa, Ostrobothnia, Finland faced Mehdi Bagheri, 30, of Shahr-e Kord, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, Iran. They competed for the FMD Middleweight Championship.

The referee put a stop to the bout between Spark and Bagheri at 2:52 of Round 2. The Finnish fighter knocked out his Iranian opponent via head kick.

Training out of Tiger Muay Thai and MMA Training Camp in Phuket, Thailand, Sparv was the only fighter from Finland at “Full Metal Dojo: Big Trouble in Little Bangkok.” Now the new FMD Middleweight Champion, he holds a professional MMA record of 19 wins and 5 losses.

Training out of Monarchy MMA Gym in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Bagheri was the only fighter from Iran at “Full Metal Dojo: Big Trouble in Little Bangkok.” Losing to Sparv broke his undefeated record and downgraded it to 4 wins and 1 loss.

In the co-main event of the evening, Thai fighters Loma Lookboonmee and “Pocket Rocket” Suwanan Boonsorn competed for the FMD Women’s Atomweight Championship. The latter submitted the latter via armbar at 2:06 of Round 1.

In the eighth bout of the evening, which was the co-main event, Loma Lookboonmee faced “Pocket Rocket” Suwanan Boonsorn. Both fighting out of Thailand, the two fighters competed for the FMD Women’s Atomweight Championship.

The referee put a stop to the bout between Loma and Suwanan at 2:06 of Round 1. The latter submitted the latter via armbar.

This marked the first professional MMA loss of Loma, who now has 2 wins and 1 loss. She is training out of Tiger Muay Thai and MMA Training Camp in Phuket, Thailand.

Now the new FMD Women’s Atomweight Champion, Suwanan improved her professional MMA record to 2 wins and 1 loss. She is training out of Team TarnThong in Bangkok.

In the seventh bout of the evening, Malaysian celebrity MMA fighters Peter Davis, 37, of Malaysia and Nik “The Bloodhound” Harris, 29, faced each other in a “Tekken 7” competition, which was the first ever e-sports contest in FMD. In the end, it was the former who was declared the winner.

Both Davis and Harris are former ONE Championship fighters fighting out of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They both lost in their respective most recent bouts.

Harris won both of his two ONE Championship bouts. He holds a professional MMA record of 6 wins and 3 losses.

Davis won seven of his 10 ONE Championship bouts. He now has 10 wins and 5 losses.

Including Harris and Davis, five fighters represented Malaysia at “Full Metal Dojo: Big Trouble in Little Bangkok.” The other three were Vinod “Cookie Monster” Greywal, Mehdi Bagheri and “Malaysian Superboy” Azreel Izzal Al-Hadi.

The United States and Malaysia were represented at the most recent Full Metal Dojo event. The weigh-ins of the 18 mixed martial arts competing in the event titled “Full Metal Dojo: Big Trouble in Little Bangkok” was hosted by the Clubhouse Sports Bar and Grill in Bangkok, Thailand on November 2, 2018.

Hosted by FMD founder Jon Nutt, the fight night took place at the Insanity Nightclub at Sukhumvit soi 11 in Bangkok on November 3, 2018. The fight card featured two amateur and six professional MMA matches and one celebrity e-sports contest.

In the sixth bout of the evening, Javi “Honey Badger” Trujillo of Chico, California, USA and Vinod “Cookie Monster” Greywal of Malaysia battled it out in the welterweight division. It was the fourth professional MMA bout of the evening.

The referee put a stop to the welterweight bout between Trujillo and Greywal at 4:24 of Round 1. The American contender submitted his Malaysian opponent via rear-naked choke.

Winning at “Full Metal Dojo: Big Trouble in Little Bangkok” improved Trujillo’s professional MMA record to 4 wins and 1 loss. Training out of Elite Fight Club in Bangkok, he was the only fighter who represented the U.S. at “Full Metal Dojo: Big Trouble in Little Bangkok.”

Training out of the UFC Gym Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Greywal made his professional MMA debut at “Full Metal Dojo: Big Trouble in Little Bangkok.” He accepted the bout in five days notice, replacing Daniel “Kiwi” Kerr of New Zealand who was originally set to face Trujillo.

Including Greywal, five fighters represented Malaysia at “Full Metal Dojo: Big Trouble in Little Bangkok.” The other four were Peter Davis, Nik “The Bloodhound” Harris, Mehdi Bagheri and “Malaysian Superboy” Azreel Izzal Al-Hadi.
