The United States and Brazil were among the 19 countries represented at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” on May 17, 2019. ONE Championship held the combat sports event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.
Featuring 10 mixed martial arts matches and six ONE Super Series contests, which were six kickboxing bouts, “ONE: Enter the Dragon” was the Singapore-based martial arts organization’s second event in 2019 that took place in Singapore. The 12th bout was between “Super” Sage Northcutt, 23, of the U.S. and Cosmo “Good Boy” Alexandre, 37, of Brazil.
Northcutt was one of the two representatives of the U.S. at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” while Alexandre was one of the two representatives of Brazil. Argentina, Australia, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Moldova, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey and Ukraine were also represented.
Alexandre was a professional footballer before becoming a professional martial artist. Training out of 013 Muay Thai, he was 19 years old when he started his training in Muay Thai.
“ONE: Enter the Dragon” marked Alexandre’s third ONE Championship bout and first MMA match in the promotion. Under ONE Super Series, he defeated Elliot “The Dragon” Compton, 28, of Queensland, Australia at “ONE: Heroes of Honor” on April 20, 2018 but lost to Nieky “The Natural” Holzken, 34, of Helmond, Netherlands at “ONE: Warrior’s Dream” on November 17, 2018.
Northcutt represents Team Alpha Male in the U.S. and is training out of Evolve MMA in Singapore. He previously competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and he made his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Enter the Dragon.”
Born in Katy, Texas, USA on March 1, 1991, Northcutt was 4 years old when he started his MMA training. In 2010, he appeared in two episodes of the Disney XD series “Moises Rules!”
Northcutt and Alexandre competed in an MMA match in the welterweight division. Olivier Coste served as the referee.
Coste put a stop to the welterweight contest after 29 seconds in the first round. Alexandre knocked out Northcutt.
Winning at “ONE: Enter the Draon” improved the professional MMA record of Alexandre to 8 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Northcutt now has 11 wins and 3 losses.
“ONE: Enter the Dragon” Main Events
Both fighting out of the Netherlands, Nieky “The Natural” Holzken, 34, and Regian “The Immortal” Eersel, 25, competed for the inaugural ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Championship in the co-main event. The latter won the title via unanimous decision.
Christian “The Warrior” Lee, 20, of Singapore challenged reigning ONE Lightweight World Championship: Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki, 35, of Japan in the main event. The Singaporean challenger dethroned the Japanese defending champion via technical knockout.
