Hong Kong and Italy were two of the 21 countries represented at “ONE: Reign of Valor,” the first ONE Championship event in 2019 held in Myanmar. The Singapore-based mixed martial arts promotion held it at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar on March 8, 2019.
“ONE: Reign of Valor” featured nine MMA matches and five ONE Super Series contests, which are kickboxing bouts. In the 12th bout of the evening, Alain “The Panther” Ngalani, 43, of Hong Kong faced Mauro “The Hammer” Cerilli, 35, of Italy.
Ngalani and Cerilli were the sole representatives of their respective countries at “ONE: Reign of Valor.” They were the only heavyweight fighters on the card.
On November 23, 2018, Cerilli made his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Conquest of Champions” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines where he challenged reigning ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera, 41, of the Philippines. The Filipino-American defending champion knocked out the Italian challenger via punch in the first round.
Before joining ONE Championship, Cerilli competed in Magnum Fighting Championship and Cage Warriors, among others. He was a Cage Warriors Heavyweight Champion.
As an MMA fighter, Ngalani has been competing professionally since 2013. “ONE: Reign of Valor” marked his 10th ONE Championship bout.
Born in Cameroon, Ngalani was only six years old when he started his judo training. As a teenager, he also trained in Muay Thai, kickboxing, karate and other striking disciplines.
With Olivier Coste as the referee, Ngalani and Cerilli competed in an MMA match in the heavyweight division. The Italian contender knocked out his Hong Kong-based Cameroonian opponent via after 2 minutes and 30 seconds in the first round.
Winning at “ONE: Reign of Valor” improved Cerilli’s professional MMA record to 13 wins and 3 losses. On the other hand, Ngalani now has 4 wins, 5 losses and 1 No Contest.

Phoe “Bushido” Thaw, 34, of Myanmar faced “The Iceman” Yohan Mulia Legowo, 38, of Indonesia in the co-main event. The Burmese contender knocked out his Indonesian opponent in the second round.
Georgiy “Knight” Kichigin, 28, of Kazakhstan challenged reigning ONE Welterweight World Champion Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam, 28, of Sweden in the main event. After two five-minute rounds, the Swedish defending champion won via technical knockout via retirement.
Australia, Cambodia, China, Finland, Germany, Guam, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco, Myanmar, the Philippines, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Thailand and the United Kingdom were also represented at “ONE: Reign of Valor.” Check the complete results on Conan Daily.
